Registered Speech Language Pathologist

"Communication is a human right, and I am passionate about promoting communication access for individuals of all ages and abilities."

About Brittany

Hi, I'm Brittany! I was born and raised in Edmonton, and I completed both my Bachelor of Science and my Master's in Communication Sciences and Disorders at the University of Alberta. I chose to pursue a career in speech-language pathology, as it combines my interest in human physiology and anatomy with my two favourite activities: talking and eating! As a speech-language pathologist, I have worked in a variety of settings, including homecare, outpatient, acute care, inpatient rehabilitation and long-term care, servicing both adult and pediatric clients. Working in these settings has provided me with experience assessing and treating voice, communication, speech, fluency, and swallowing disorders across various populations.

I am a firm believer in individualizing functional therapy goals to best meet a client's communication needs. Not only do I capitalize on my client's strengths and interests to facilitate progress, but I also encourage family participation during sessions to help promote carry-over and generalization of targeted goals. Additionally, I prioritize providing education and sharing knowledge to reveal competence in clients and their communication partners.
